The libpcre trick doesn't seem to fix this emerging problem; Any ideas? This is blocking my new gentoo box from installing gnucash, which I use quite extensively.

This package is missing a dependency: it requires dev-libs/libpcre. Without libpcre installed, attempting to merge gnome-vfs fails when aclocal checks for /usr/share/aclocal/gnome-macros. While this directory is not created by merging libpcre, gnome-vfs will install correctly after libpcre has been merged. (Portage synced 17:45 EST July 12, 2006)

sinx.wordpress.com/2006/07/19/instalacja-gpredict-same-klopoty/
I edited /usr/portage/gnome-base/gnome-vfs/gnome-vfs-1.0.5-r4.ebuild at line 57 (aclocal -I /usr/share/aclocal/gnome-macros || die) and uncommented with a # at the beginning of the line.
Then:
# ebuild /usr/portage/gnome-base/gnome-vfs/gnome-vfs-1.0.5-r4.ebuild digest
and
emerge =gnome-base/gnome-vfs-1.0.5-r4
voila: emerging gnucash started without complaining.
